A region rich in culture…
Ten minutes away from our campsite, are located the Abbey of Cadouin established in the XIIth century, the medieval villages of Limeuil and Belvès, the Caves of Maxanges, and the caves which are unique in the world.
“Périgord” is rich in prehistoric and historical culture with its castles, caves, “bastides”, villages.
“Le Domaine de Fromengal” is the ideal point of departure for numerous places of interest, being located less than twenty minutes away from the castle of Castelnaud, the castle of Milandes with the famous “Josephine Baker” and the castle of Beynac. The cave of Lascaux II and the International Center of Prehistory are only 40 minutes away.
Enjoy the numerous street markets in “Périgord” waiting for you with all their local products: foie gras (goose or duck), confits or magrets de canard (duck), rillettes, sausages, Cabécou cheese, walnuts and walnut oil, strawberries and wines (Bergerac, Pécharmant, Monbazillac). In high season, night-markets also take place in a lot of villages.
Nearby “Le Domaine”, you can also enjoy plenty of sport and leisure activities: Canoe trips on the river “Dordogne” or on the “Vézère”, quad riding, tree climbing, horse riding, golf and fantastic walking country side.
